Here are some tips for a taking a great photo
, You know your child best and you know when they are at their best, set appointments for that time of day. If your child is a morning person, find a photographer that will meet that need.
, Dress your child in solids or gently patterned clothes as the photo is usually about the child.
, If the clothes are a prop...Christening gown, School uniform etc. Be sure to inform the photographer that you need to see the complete outfit in the photo.
, If your child has a favorite toy or blanket, have it at your session and take a few photos with it.
, If doing a group photo, decide what the overall tone of the photo will be; casual, formal etc. and be sure to inform everyone in the group.
, Using a translucent powder on the face or head will help reduce the apperance of shiny or oily skin.
, Keeping in mind that the professional lighting will help heat up the space, when you have scheduled an on site appointment, turn down your heat a couple of hours before the appointment time. Cooler temperatures keep the subject more relaxed.
, When you have an appointment set for a portrait at a care facility or Church, be sure to check with the proper people and verify that photos are allowed.
